They try and leave a message an impersonate themselves as from an IT recovery service for emails etc.
Never provide them the SMS verification code as they would have pretended to log into your account as a forgotten password.
Once they are in, they will try and locate your Paypal account and transfer money out of your account.
Always use a two step verification code.
